Rimar’s ticket missed matching the Lucky Ball number, 3, but won the game’s second highest prize—$25,000—for matching 5 of her family’s “birthday numbers” with the other five winning numbers drawn, 3 - 11 - 13 - 23 - 32. Across New England, 71,126 winning Lucky for Life tickets were purchased for March 7. Barbara Synos Claims Second Highest Prize in CT Lottery Draw Game.

While waiting for her daughter and grandchildren to arrive for a family visit, Barbara Synos of Oxford sat reading the morning newspaper at the kitchen table. Remembering that she had three “Quick Pick” tickets for the March 4 “Lucky for Life” drawing, Synos flipped through the pages to locate the previous day’s winning Lottery numbers to check her tickets.

“I had one number on the first ticket. The second ticket didn’t have any matches. When I got to the third ticket, I began underlining each number that matched a winning number on my ticket, one after the other, until I counted five numbers—and won $25,000!” Synos told Lottery officials.

“It was like I was in another world. I couldn’t believe it!” Synos said with a laugh. “Shortly after, my daughter and the kids showed up. I showed her the ticket and we both excitedly called my husband to tell him that I won $25,000. He didn’t believe it, either, of course!”

Anthony Caputo, 49, wins Lucky For Life’s $1,000 a day for life prize!

A 49 year-old Chicopee, Massachusetts man today claimed the $1,000 a day for life top prize that he won after matching all five numbers plus the “Lucky Ball” in the Monday, May 28th Lucky For Life drawing.

Anthony Caputo played his children’s birthdays to come up with the winning number combination (2-4-19-23-24 and Lucky Ball 11) that earned him the lottery prize that will pay out $1,000 a day, every day, for the rest of his life.

The $1,000 a day for life prize, which is paid out on a weekly basis, is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years, but will be paid out for the duration of the winner’s lifetime. Caputo, who indicated that he is currently unemployed after being laid off from a job, said he plans to retire early and live on the winnings from the lifetime prize.

Lucky For Life tickets are $2 each and can be purchased at Lottery retailers in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Caputo purchased his winning Lucky For Life ticket at New Corner Variety located at 1875 Memorial Drive in Chicopee. The store owner, Dinesh Patel, received a $50,000 commission - the top amount paid to retailers in Massachusetts - for selling the winning ticket.

Lucky For Life launched on March 11th and is the first, and only, lottery game to be played in all six New England states. The new game has produced four top prize winners to-date, including Bruce Campbell, 39, of Hanover, Massachusetts who won his prize in Lucky For Life’s inaugural drawing on March 15th.

There are 10 total ways to win playing Lucky For Life. Players must select five (5) numbers out a field of 40, and one (1) Lucky Ball number out of a field of 21. Those matching all six numbers drawn win the game’s $1,000 a day for life top prize. The game also features a $25,000 second prize and other exciting cash prizes ranging from $2,000 to $2. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 6.6. While there is not a cash option offered on the top prize, all lower-tiered prizes are paid out in one-time, lump sum payments. All winning tickets must be redeemed in the state they were purchased.

Bruce Campbell, 39, wins $1,000 a day, every day, for the rest of his life

A 39 year-old Hanover, Massachusetts man today claimed the first top prize in the new multi-state lottery game “Lucky for Life.”

Bruce Campbell was awarded a ceremonial check for $1,000 a day for life by State Treasurer Steven Grossman at a press conference held this afternoon at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Braintree headquarters. Campbell won the prize after matching all six numbers drawn (1-2-6-10-19, Lucky Ball 15) in Lucky for Life’s inaugural drawing on Thursday, March 15. The odds of matching all six numbers to win the game’s top prize are just over 1 in 13.8 million.

Campbell stopped into Myette’s Country Store in Hanover last Thursday, the day of Lucky for Life’s first drawing, and asked the store owner for a suggestion on what Lottery game to play. Tracy Myette Brown, who was a high school classmate of the frequent customer, suggested he try the new Lucky for Life game, so Campbell filled out a bet slip using numbers significant to him – birthdays, including his own, and an old hockey number.

The following day, Campbell received a Facebook message from Myette Brown directing him to check his numbers because her store sold the winning ticket. Campbell, who works as a plumber, was in his van having lunch when he phoned into the store to inquire. After reading the numbers on his ticket to Kevin Brown, the owner’s husband, Campbell was stunned to learn he was the game’s top prize winner. He never finished his lunch, but he soon headed to a nearby bank to put the winning ticket in a safe deposit box. Campbell’s $1,000 a day for life prize, which will be paid out on a weekly basis, is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years, but will be paid out for the duration of his lifetime. When asked if he had big plans for his winnings, Campbell said he will invest for the future. He did reveal that he and his longtime girlfriend Dawn will be splurging on a Cadillac and a new Harley motorcycle, but beyond that he “will remain the same hard-working blue collar guy that he’s always been.”

Myette’s Country Store also benefitted from Campbell’s luck. The store received $50,000 for selling the winning ticket – the maximum Lottery retailer commission in Massachusetts. Myette’s, a fifth-generation, family-owned business, has been a licensed retailer since the Lottery’s inception 40 years ago.
